The 2015 Commercial Brokers Association Achievement Awards were held last night at Boston’s InterContinental hotel. CBRE/NE was honored to have 11 nominations in total, taking home three Deal of the Year awards. CBRE/NE Vice Chairman/Partner and CBA President David Fitzgerald was a dynamic master of ceremonies, and CBRE/NE SVP/Partner Taidgh McClory gave an informative speech about the CBA’s initiatives in diversity. We were excited for the wins of our colleagues J. Calnan & Associates for Collaborating Professional and Samuels & Associates for Landlord of the Year.

We are extremely proud of all the CBRE/NE nominations, the first of which in the evening was Rising Star nominee Nicholas Amarante, an Associate on our Urban brokerage team. Our Urban team was also nominated three times in the Life Sciences Deal of the Year category. Vice Chairman Greg Lucas, SVP/Partner Charles Kavoogian and SVP/Partner Adam Brinch were nominated for representing tenant Momenta Pharmaceuticals in its 104,678-sq.-ft. renewal at 320 Bent Street in Cambridge. The three, with the addition of SVP/Partner Curtis Cole, were also nominated twice on behalf of representing landlord Alexandria Real Estate Equities, once for Bluebird Bio’s 253,108-sq.-ft. lease at 60 Binney Street, and once for Bristol-Myer’s 208,394-sq.-ft. build-to-suit at 100 Binney Street. The Alexandria team did take home the award on the office front, however, for Sanofi/Genzyme’s build-to-suit at 50 Binney Street.

Other CBRE/NE nominations included SVP/Partner Jeremy Grossman in the Retail Deal of the Year category, for representing landlord The Georgetown Company in the 18,000-sq.-ft. Boston Wax Museum lease at One Washington Mall in Boston. In the Suburban Office Deal of the Year category, EVP/Partner Andy Majewski and First Vice President Matt Siciliano were nominated for representing landlord Davis Marcus Partners in the 115,000-sq.-ft. lease with PerkinElmer at 940 Winter Street in Waltham. Majewski, along with EVP/Partner Mike Ripp, Vice President Alex Plaisted, VP of Client Services Liz Nyman and Client Services Coordinator Kirstyn Pearl were also nominated on the tenant side for representing Fresenius (FMCNA) in its three-lease renewal project totaling 421,974 sq. ft. in Waltham/Lexington.

Our Industrial brokerage team comprised of EVP/Partner Bob Gibson, EVP/Partner Steve Clancy, Vice President Rachel Marks and Associate Doug Rodenstein was nominated twice for Industrial Deal of the Year. The team represented Chambers Street Properties/Gramercy Property Trust in the $20.3M sale of 328,104-sq.-ft. 300 Constitution Drive in Taunton to The Boston Globe. The team took home the award for their representation of Martignetti Companies’ purchase of Myles Standish Phase IV warehouse in Taunton, a 115-acre site purchased for $11.5M from Taunton Development/MassDevelopment.

The last, but certainly not least, win of the night for CBRE/NE was in the Downtown Office Deal of the Year category for BNY Mellon’s 250,000-sq.-ft. lease extension at One Boston Place. EVP/Partner Chris Cuddy, Director of Strategic Accounts Peter Dominski, First Vice President Lauren Lipscomb and Vice President Kristen Blumetti represented the joint venture ownership of TIAA-CREF and Ivanhoé Cambridge. The CBRE/NE property management team led by VP/GM/Partner Emily Batchelder was integral in the 1.5-year process; the project as a whole was an exemplary team effort from all parties involved.

Congratulations to all those nominated last night. The full list of nominees can be found here, and the full list of winners can be found here. It was a fantastic night and a memorable year—here’s to a great 2016!
